Me grooming Quin (the horse) before the saddling up.
Getting into the big arena.
It was fun but I had to remember to remain hopeful... considering the fact that there is so much to remember and the desire to know it perfectly now...... patience... humility... Peace.I praise God that I have the opportunity to be around these beautiful creatures. Praise God for His goodness!
Here are some more pictures from when we went camping with my godparents (also my aunt and uncle) their granddaughter (my cousin once removed) and my other aunt with three of her daughters. Dad didn't come with us because he participated in the Golf for life.
I didn't take very many at all. Just one day when we went to the river to swim. I guess I just wasn't in a "pictures taking mood"
The first day we just set up and talked ... what else do people do the majority of the time?
There was no swimming in the lake for wierd reasons that none of us can figure out. Don't tell me we can't swim in it because its drinking water.... I know thats what they say but PLEASE... if you have boats in there (leaking oil and all that good stuff, I can grantee) and fish of all kinds (cat fish and bass .. to name only a few) why in the world would say that you can't swim? AND to top it all off... we went to the river to go swimming BUT the river runs into the lake.. so sooner or later our germs (if that's what they really are worried about) will get into the lake which will then be brought into homes coming from the faucet... after being purified I am sure.
So anyways.... back to the subject... WE rented a motor boat for two hours that fit four at a time. With Stephanie driving and Anna Maria, Katie and myself as passengers we went out for an hour and then came back to dock so James could have a wing and driving the boat, with Anne Catherine, Faustina and Uncle Phil as passengers.
We had many visits from the local Skunks and raccoons at night and early in the morning... I was disappointing that I slept through all of them..... yeah.. right... and mother was so thrilled to welcome them at the door.... more like the tent flap. The skunks preferred the trash bag the first night while the Raccoon had it right all along for he went straight to the source... the ice chest. He got three eggs before mom decided to risk the skunk so as to save the eggs. There were three eggs missing in the morning.
the second night... after checking to make sure that everything was in the car .. out of reach of stinking little paws... mother once more heard the guests returning... and it sounded as if they were having a feast. Munch ..crunch crunchcrunch ...Munch crunch crunchcrunch. The Gram Crackers were left out next to the fire. So I guess after their midnight meal they were not completed satisfied and decided to see if any snacks, whether small or large, was concealed under the tent.
By morning all of the gram crackers were gone... a whole box... well... the box was still there, completely intact actually, but the contents had been devoured by the occupants of the camp in the earlier morning hours.
Both nights I had slept with Katie in her tent and was not disturbed whats so ever by any four legged local residents of Lake Cachuma.
The swimming hole that was so enjoyed.
Stephanie and Anna trying to find reception.
The girls after some time in the river and the bank. Isn't that a great tree?
A beautiful view of the bank from the middle of the river ( where I am standing) you can see the tree where I took the picture of the girls.
