Santa Margarita. The main purpose for these stops was to look at houses and get an idea of the area. I know people say that it is beautiful over and it is, but it just isn't ...home. I love Porterville. I know were every thing is, people look familiar and I feel comfortable. Thinking about it i know that it isn't the town that I love, but more, the people that I love.
The main reason that we went up that way was that Dad had to go to his new work to be introduced and shown around. We took advantage of the opportunity and had a vacation before Dad starts his new job.
We stayed at the VanZandt's beach house.
It has a great view of the beach from down the street.
The three of us kids went down to the beach when we got there just to walk ans enjoy it. We stayed at the condo that evening not doing much. That evening we watched a movie called "Broken Lance" It is a western that none of us had ever seen before. It has Spencer Tracy in it and also Robert Wagner, thankfully he was a good guy because he is the one who made it worth our while :) ( Handsome!)
The Morning following we ate yummy cereal as in Corn Flakes and Chocolate Rice Crispy (wow)
Dad was going to leave at nine thirty to go to Atascadero for his ...thing. So after a little bit of reading and Mom looking for the keys to the condo and then locking the car keys in the car, praying and waiting for triple AAA to come, seeing Dad off after Triple A came and got the keys out, we set out for a walk along the street with all the stores on it that is next to the pier.
We left the condo right after the AAA guy came and that was right at 9:30. We had a pleasant time though Anne.C had difficult moments at times.
We stopped at the hot dogz place. Mother and I had the chili dog which had of course chili and it had American cheese and onions. James ordered the Chicago dog but we think they gave him the wrong one because it didn't match the description, but he liked it so he was happy. Anne C got a plain hot dog with mustard and ketchup on it, we were so surprised...not.
After the first part of the walk we went to the pier. It is always so nice to be with your mother and enjoy something that you know you both love and think an awesome creation of God.
When we were on the pier there were pelicans that were enjoying the railing as a comfortable seat and fast food restaurant :) As we were watching a Girl came a put a live fish, that they had just caught, on the wood in front of one of the pelican (their were three). It was so fun to watch the pelican eat this fish. It was like Nemo come to life, though this time the fish didn't stop in the birds throat and get coughed up, like Marlin did.
Here are some pictures of the bird with the fish in it's bill. beech, bucket, mouth whatever you want to call the big pouch that pelicans use as a mouth. Zephyr please correct me if any of my terms were in correct.
After we got back to the condo we got ready to go down to the beach and then went. Dad still wasn't there but we hoped that he was getting to know people. I never got in the water past my knees and neither did mother. We sat on the beach enjoying the breeze and the feel of sand. James and Anne C. had a fun time though on more than many occasions they were arguing and telling each other to stop doing what ever they were doing. Anne C. got on the boggy board and for the first time she got in and boarded. James tried to skim board for a little while but that didn't last long.
We all had a great time.
I think am going to make a complain to whoever made the sun lotion stuff. I put it on and My knees are as red as a bunnies noes. I will leave out that I probably didn't put any right there on that spot because My board shorts are longer than were I got burned, but I was moving around in different positions on the sand for a good three hours with only one code of lotion so maybe it is my fault and it won't qualify as something to be worried about any way so I won't bother. Ahhh I wouldn't make a fuss about it any way. I am not choking when I say that I am red (my knees) and that this is very painful. well I need to go to bed, but I wanted to say hi and tell you that i am home safe and sound for the time being.
